It’s been slowly dawning on the horizon for a few moths now. Despite the electric Poltimore Launch in January headlined by Private Agenda and the amazing musical line-up announcement just a few weeks ago, featuring artists such as Delmer Darion and The Little Unsaid, there’s been an announcement that we’ve all been waiting for – who will headline this year’s festival, consistently publicised as the biggest yet?
Well the secret is out – the Poltimore Festival 2017 has been announced as the incredible Matthew and The Atlas.
The quintet have been hailed by Q Magazine as “the British Bon Iver”, Matthew and The Atlas have earned themselves a reputation for delivering enchanting, poetic lyricism that perfectly captures the very spirit of both whimsy and wilderness. Having just returned from a sold-out European tour supporting indie-folk powerhouse Bears Den – Matthew and the Atlas have emerged with a unique energy that is set to blend beautifully with the atmospheric surroundings of Poltimore House. In fact, during the development of their latest record Temple, lead singer Hegarty collaborated on a photo-project that saw him touring iconic abandoned buildings. Playing the final slot on the spectacular Lawn Stage, there is no act more perfectly poised to capture a golden summer’s evening at the end of an incredible day of live music and art.
This years festival takes place on Sunday 28th May.
