Well you’ve made it through your first term of University – CONGRATS — but now it’s time to knuckle down. There are only four months between now and exams, and there’s much partying to be done. Forget coursework, forget revision, some things are more important than that, and obviously partying’s one of them. How else do you expect to become an established BNOC? Of course I’m kidding, but really, now is the time to get it out of your system before you become bogged down by revision. So here are some suggestions to get you started. Enjoy.

1. Pre-drinks

This needs no introduction, but what it does need is a get pumped playlist. Throw in a few of these tracks, and in the immortal words of my blockmate…”LETS GET GAZEEBOOED”.

Swimming Pools (Drank) – Kendrick Lamar

My Head Is A Jungle (MK Remix) – Wankelmut and Emma Louise

3005 – Childish Gambino

Punching In A Dream – The Naked And Famous

2. Oh, hey…you

Everyone’s just arrived and no one’s dancing. Be cool, take a deep breath. Your party is not, repeat not a dud. This stage is unavoidable, all you can do is ride it out with a few good ‘background’ tunes. Good luck.

3. The Kick-Off

You’ve put on everyone’s favourite song and are now officially considered a Lord by your peers. Enjoy the perks of being a BNOC. You’ve earned it.

Hey Ya – Outkast

Hot in herre – Nelly

Ignition – R. Kelly

All Star – Smash Mouth

6. The Comedown

Its 4 am and you’re still here. Well done, I’m impressed. But the party’s technically over, so you can finally pass out at your closest convenience (sofa? corridor?). Time to get philosophical. If you were reincarnated as a member of the Beatles, would you go Lennon?

Another Girl – Jacques Greene

1901 – Phoenix

Robbers – The 1975

Electric Feel – MGMT
