Welcome to Razz!
As a new student at Exeter, you’re often bombarded with an overwhelming amount of information – timetables, reading lists, Freshers Week events and lists of societies that you can join. With such a diverse range of societies at Exeter and many students with limited budget for the Activities Fair, deciding which societies to join can be tricky. Therefore, we’ve decided to outline exactly what we do, so that you can get a real idea of what it’d be like to join Razz and the opportunities we offer.
First of all, Razz is Exeter University’s only publication dedicated solely to arts and lifestyle. We publish online daily, and will be publishing in print at least twice a year. As soon as we open for submissions, we accept a huge variety of work including but not limited to:
- Feature Articles e.g. travel, fashion, music, food, cinema, literature
- Art e.g. scanned copies of sketches, paintings, collages etc.
We also have positions for regular contributors on subjects such as fashion, music, live performance, digital entertainment and culinary arts. However, the opportunities we offer at Razz are not limited to publication. For each print issue, Razz runs a shoot and so we are often on the look out for models, stylists, makeup artists and set/lighting designers.
Whether you’re looking to improve your CV or you simply want to find an outlet for all your creative endeavours, many students have found their involvement in Razz to be incredibly rewarding.
So, if you want to join a society that will truly immerse you in Exeter’s arts scene, look no further than Razz. This year is going to be an exciting time for the publication, fresh from a re-vamp, and with further changes to come. This is your chance to get involved in a constantly evolving publication, which will allow you to get your work noticed.
