Shotgun theatre presents ‘Zanna Don’t‘ which turns high school completely upside down! You may have seen the cast walking around campus in their rather snazzy red and white, American High School baseball jackets, which are the colours of Heartsville High School, where the play is set. But there’s something a little bit different going on at Heartsville…all social norms are completely reversed!
The most popular guy in school is the chess champion and the captain of the football team is a loser. Homosexuality is the standard and hetereosexuality is taboo. The play follows a group of highschoolers as they challenge the heterophobic precedent with “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”, a musical about whether straight people should be allowed in the military.
Expect a colourful, vibrant and touching journey through love, heartbreak and acceptance. Also, gratuitous girl on girl action! If musical theatre doesn’t address important political issues, what will?
Tickets are £5 for members and £7 for non-members and it’s being performed from the 5th until the 8th of December at Kay House (near Birks Grange). To reserve tickets, email: firstname.lastname@example.org
The Razz team will definitely be going to see ‘Zanna Don’t’ and so should you!
Lots of Razz love,
